Ethereum Sportsbooks

Ethereum has been lauded as the perfect crypto for online gambling because of smart contracts and provably fair games. In this case, Ethereum could lead to lower juice, better odds and faster grading and payments.

Are There Some Sites to Stay Away From?

Like anything else on the internet, (games, social media, news, etc etc) there will be some sites to stay away from.

We’re not going to talk a ton about those as we’re not here just to poop on other sites, but there will always be a “player beware” factor when it comes to your money and we’ll help as much as we can!

Now, we would be lying if we were to say that there aren’t a ton of online sportsbooks and casinos out there in the wilds of the internet that will be more than happy to take your Ethereum. However, some of the names that would pop up just a couple of years ago have changed or worse, are just dead and gone. If any players were around when these sites “died”, hopefully they got their money back but we’re willing to bet that many players did not!

For just a couple of examples, these are some of the names that would have popped up toward the top until “recently”.

  • Etheroll.com
  • Were they a legitimate gambling site? We don’t know. They weren’t around long enough for us to find out and now they’re gone. The site itself does still exist if you want to look at it for fun, but as of now it is “not accepting new bets” and we do not recommend placing any bets with them if they do go live once again.

  • Rouleth
  • With Rouleth here you would get some Ethereum based casino gambling but when we say it’s a dead site, we mean it’s DEAD. Even looking up the Reddit Board for Rouleth we see that it hasn’t been updated in 5 years! Once again, if any players were hanging out there when the end came around, hopefully they got their money back but we’re doubting it!

  • Funfair.io
  • Funfair seems to still be around as a company as a whole. You can go to their site and see what they’re all about but it does look as if they’ve gone past the traditional sportsbook/casino and have moved on to bigger and better things on the blockchain.

  • Edgeless.io
  • Of all the places on this little list here, Edgeless seems to still be in business as a straight Ethereum casino. We’re all about fairness here, and in the interest of fairness Edgeless doesn’t throw up any immediate red flags, but something just seems kind of… off. All of the sportsbooks and casinos we support and stand behind have actually been used by us and we know that they can be completely trusted. Edgeless? Nah, we’re not sending them any of our money. Player beware!

Short list of the best sportsbooks that take ETH for deposits and/or cash outs.

So the fact that there are a lot of Ethereum sportsgbooks that will just up and dip and go out of business, or just die out of nowhere, whatever the case is, and then they’re gone. Did players get everything they were owed? Did they get back anything they had in their account that was always rightfully theirs? We don’t know and we probably never will!

Luckily, if one were to look around they’ll also see that there are safe, legitimate sportsbooks that can be trusted, have been in the industry for years and years, and most importantly, pay their players when the need arises!

Let’s take a look at the top of the top!

Ethereum has a $20 minimum and a $10,000 maximum for their deposits with the same minimum and maximum amounts for their withdrawals. You can get a 100% deposit bonus for sports betting if you deposit with crypto along with the code CRYPTO100 together with a ton of other on-going promotions.

Betonline also has a fantastic reputation, a built in casino and poker room and more. Likewise, they are a full featured sports betting site with live betting, futures, parlays and all the big sports. You can deposit with ETH, BTC, LTC and a whole lot of other options including Credit Cards and cash transfers.

Whenever you see the name “BetOnline” around here you’ll almost always see the name “SportsBetting” come up right after them. The reason for this is that, to be honest, there isn’t a ton of difference between the two. They are both owned by the same company and they don’t really do a lot to differentiate between the two.

If you go to one site and then the other you’ll see that the promotions, depositing and withdrawing options are almost identical. We have to bring them up anyway however as there’s nothing in the rules or the Terms and Conditions that say you cannot join up with both of them and enjoy the perks and promos at each one!

Use 35 different altcoins for depositing including Ethereum at one of our longest sportsbooks on our good list, Bookmaker. For your withdrawals you’ll have 32 different options. For some of your lesser-known coins that are listed you’ll just want to keep going over to BookMaker to see what’s currently available for depositing or withdrawing. These options will change fairly often. For the more solid coins however, bitcoin, Litecoin, and others, they’re always available. Yes, this includes Ethereum.

What can you do with your Ethereum once there at BookMaker? There you’ve got the option to take part in their sportsbook, the casino, hang out with the Live Dealers, the racebook, almost anything that any other legitimate site will be offering you. One of the only things you won’t find over there is a stand-alone poker room but the rest of their world is your oyster.

Usually when we make any types of lists, Bovada makes it toward the top as they are one of the more honest, trustworthy, legit sportsbooks you’re going to find anywhere. So why aren’t they at the top of this list? Well, when this page was first written Bovada didn’t take Ethereum, but here we are now in 2021 and Bovada absolutely takes it along with a few select other cryptos.

Once you head on over to Bovada you’ll find one of the better sportsbooks on the market today where they offer up all of the well-known sports you can think of, (NFL, NBA, MLB, and so on) along with a plethora of some lessor-known sports such as Aussie Rules, Darts, Entertainment… It’s safe to say that you’ll find something you’re interested in and can get behind!

Last but not least we’ve got CloudBet on our list here. While the site is set up to look as though they are a bitcoin only site, once you’re registered and go to the cashier you’ll see that they not only accept Ethereum but also about 10 other well known coins as well! Sorry to most of our readers here, but this one’s for the Candians out there in the wild! Here you’re going to find a great selection of sports to do some gambling on much like Bovada with their list of better known going along with the list of lessor known sports.

Not only are you going to find a great, solid and very modern looking/feeling site, but you’re also going to find some of the greatest, biggest promotions as well. (*a 5 btc match at today’s prices? Yup!)

Intertops does not accept Ethereum, but as one of the sportsbooks that are absolutely among the best they should be mentioned because they do accept bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin.

Moving On…

In the meantime we will stick with these few ETH sportsbooks and we absolutely recommend that you do the same.

If you really want to you can go and check out one of those other sites that we mentioned, but their reputation is not one we can recommend. As a result, it doesn’t mean they are bad or a scam, but we just don’t feel comfortable enough about them to send you off over to them.

As a general rule, do your own due diligence and never deposit more than you can afford to lose. This is gambling, after all!

Getting Started with Ethereum

There is a chance that here in 2021 you already have some Ethereum. If so, you may be ready to just pick out what site(s) from our list up there you’d like to join and just go nuts! If you acquired some Ethereum but you don’t really know what to do with it, just continue here and keep on scrolling.

If you have some bitcoin or even some alt-coins that you picked up, you can use an exchange service such as Changelly to trade it for some Ethereum as long as it’s supported. That process goes beyond the scope of this article but any legitimate exchange service will be very, very forthcoming and helpful if you’re new to the service and just look around whatever site you use.

And if you’re completely new to getting some Ethereum and using it for some gambling, just check out this article right here and we’ll get you going!
